About Me

About my display name - Maynard.  I realize this is an odd name for a woman, but it has special meaning to me.  That is why I'm using it here.  In the early years of our life together, my husband gave me that nickname.  Reason being, I was always dressed and fixed up to the tee during the week for my job - but when I got home, my hair got tied back with a bandana, I donned blue jean - small Men's size - overalls and almost knee high muck boots and took to the mud and dirt outside.  He loved what he called my 'beauty', but saw special love in the 'hillbilly' in his backyard.  He called me Maynard all our lives together even when I wasn't in the muck boots!  That was his love name for me.  No one else understood.  Now I don't hear it anymore.  Every time someone responds to me and addresses me as 'Maynard' I feel like I'm real again, somehow.  It's my therapy.  And besides - that is who I am.  Who he saw me as.  There's more to tell about me and us.  As I work through this crazy new world of emotions - I'll share more here.  Until then, just know that I'm just like you are...hurting.
