Most people don't care

Recommended Posts

That is true.  Others mean well when they say these things, but at the time, we're exhausted, we're thin skinned, we do NOT like platitudes, and yes, enough is enough.  We forgive them for not knowing better and we continue through our grief journey...

Sometimes, however, when you are new in grief, you can't handle the very inappropriate things people say.  It is good at that time to surround yourself with supportive people who DO get it and are there for you.  When you are stronger and better able to handle it, you can reconnect with those who say the wrong things...then perhaps you are in a better place to stand up and set them straight, in a gentle yet firm way.
