Webinars For Personal Growth And Healing

I have read several things on tapping (EFT) and for me it is not something I'm interested in at this time. The information given has proven to be very convincing and I'm so glad they are constantly working on new methods to help people heal.

The video about Bobbie really touched my heart. I cannot imagine anyone, let alone a father, talking to a child like that. Shocking!

I listened to Ashley Davis Bush this morning and enjoyed the radio talk show. The title "Embracing Change" interested me. I am thinking about a word that would work for me. Acceptance seems to keep entering my head! Perhaps I'll try it.

I really like this thread - Tools for Healing - so very much information out there to help us on our journeys.

Anne, after working with abused kids for too many years, I have heard all the things that happen. The scars run deep.

As for Tools for Healing...you contribute a lot to that string.

For those who listened to Bruce Lipton on NICABM today, here is the link to the interview I listened to in 2010 where he connects all this to spirituality. The transcript is also there and you can listen on line or download both. I was sort of in and out of today's webinar but did not get the impression that he dealt with spirituality...maybe i missed it but this is a science webinar so perhaps that explains it.

He is being interviewed here by Tami Simon, founder of Sounds True. She is a good interviewer.

This is not a webinar. It is an online radio interview with Francis Weller, author of Entering the Healing Ground. Francis does 3 day grief rituals workshops in CA and I think he is just great. This interview is very powerful.

At the end of this interview the host reads a poem by Rashani... here is the link to that and other of his poems

For those of you who follow Henri Nouwen's works, this is a link to a lenten discussion of a couple of his books. It starts on Wednesday, March 5, no need to register. Just go to the blog address: as often as you wish. If you do not know of Henri see: http://www.henrinouwen.org/about_henri/about_henri.aspx for information. His over 40 books are on spirituality.

The internationally renowned priest and author, respected professor and beloved pastor Henri Nouwen (pronounced Henry Now-win) wrote over 40 books on the spiritual life. He corresponded regularly in English, Dutch, German, French and Spanish with hundreds of friends and reached out to thousands through his Eucharistic celebrations, lectures and retreats. Since his death in 1996, ever-increasing numbers of readers, writers, teachers and seekers have been guided by his literary legacy. Nouwen’s books have sold over 2 million copies and been published in over 22 languages.

Born in Nijkerk, Holland, on January 24, 1932, Nouwen felt called to the priesthood at a very young age. He was ordained in 1957 as a diocesan priest and studied psychology at the Catholic University of Nijmegen. In 1964 he moved to the United States to study at the Menninger Clinic. He went on to teach at the University of Notre Dame, and the Divinity Schools of Yale and Harvard. For several months during the 1970s, Nouwen lived and worked with the Trappist monks in the Abbey of the Genesee, and in the early 1980s he lived with the poor in Peru. In 1985 he was called to join L’Arche in Trosly, France, the first of over 100 communities founded by Jean Vanier where people with developmental disabilities live with assistants. A year later Nouwen came to make his home at L’Arche Daybreak near Toronto, Canada. He died suddenly on September 21st, 1996, in Holland and is buried in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

Nouwen believed that what is most personal is most universal; he wrote, “By giving words to these intimate experiences I can make my life available to others.” His spirit lives on in the work of the Henri Nouwen Society, Henri Nouwen Stichting, the Henri Nouwen Trust, the Henri J. M. Nouwen Archives and Research Collection, and in all who live the spiritual values of communion, community and ministry, to which he dedicated his life.

Here is a link to the Grief Healing Telesummit that starts on March 10 through March 18. It is FREE, features leaders in the field and is broadcast twice each day. See this link to sign up and read about every speaker.

I can't say enough about educating oneself about grief. It is so important and makes the journey both "easier" (I use that word loosely) and more meaningful. Read Read Read and watch these and other wonderful webinars. Go to Marty's website http://www.griefhealing.com and read her blog and other resources she offers there. It all helps. The schedule is at this link also.

How to Make Meaning from Loss

  • Learn valuable information about using touchstones of comfort, creatively cherishing memories, enjoying your loved one’s legacy and honoring a life well lived.
  • Learn how the REAL you is revealed during loss.
  • Meaning-making from loss….is this really possible?
  • How can I find purpose and passion again after loss?
  • Beautiful ways to honor and remember deceased loved ones.

Thank you, Marty and Mary, for all this information. I need a secretary to help me keep track of things. "Knowledge is Power" but I have to remember that I am only ONE person and I really haven't performed any miracles YET. :P

"In this free call Fiona Moore, Spiritual Mentor and Healer, will share three key practices that form the foundation of true health and happiness. Once you know and use these practices you’ll find that your search for what to do to improve your life will drop away, leaving you content, at peace and clear about your path and purpose. On the call you’ll discover:

  • Why personal growth and personal development strategies don’t work.

Thanks for this, Marty. Someday hopefully I will get to this conference. In the meantime, I will be at the UW-La Crosse Death Education conference those days...4 days early June. It is on Sudden and Traumatic Death this year. But I would like to attend this one perhaps next year....costly though. You included some great links that I will check out later.

Do you ever wonder about life after death? What happens to the life energy after a loved one dies, or after we ourselves die? I invite you to listen and learn about experiences with the spiritual realm beyond death in this fascinating radio discussion between Ashley Davis Bush and Sandra Champlain, author of We Don’t Die. The ½ hour interview is free, and well worth your time! Click HERE to listen, any time.

Each of us knows that we will die – death is not optional. In fact, it’s the biggest and most massive change that we’ll ever face. And yet, most of us don’t spend any time reflecting on our own deaths and what might be the ultimate next chapter. Join Ashley as she talks with Sandra. Sandra has researched death and concluded that there is indeed something more. Together they discuss how this information can impact life as well as the grieving process. This fascinating discussion can change how you think about life and death.

I also encourage you to download and listen to Sandra's free, 1-hour-long audio, How to Survive Grief (Questions addressed include What is grief? How do we experience it? Why does it hurt so much? What do we do when someone dies? Why is it so hard to learn about grief while we are grieving? How does grief affect memory, perception, thinking, relationships? What is anticipatory grief, and how does it affect us? Why do we grieve for those we love? How does the brain function during grief? What are some red flags to watch for? and much, much more.)

Visit and explore Sandra Champlain's website, We Don't Die, http://www.wedontdie.com/

Bread for the Journey is an online radio show hosted by Marianna Cacciatore. These are encore presentations of her interviews (parts 1 and 2) with Francis Weller. Francis is an author, grief specialist and psychotherapist. He speaks around the country and leads 3 day grief rituals. I hope to bring him to Madison some day. These interviews are unique because Francis has a unique approach to the subject of loss and grief.

I'm going to try this link and I really hope it works because I think it will be worth our time. It is not a free webinar so this may have to be deleted from our forum. I look on it as informational and I am going to sign up. There are many FREE videos with Jack Kornfield that we can Google.

The Power of Mindfulness moderated by Ruth Buczynski from NICABM ~ featuring Jack Kornfield.
