I Lost My Angel On January 14, 2013

Recommended Posts

I have been told that I have complicated grief, not many caregivers have been certified for complicated grief, therefore I have no help. Tried verbal therapy, did not work for me, tried group therapy didn't work for me. That's all I do all day is grieve for my lost angels, Christina Marie. There are only two certified therapists in California, and they are very far far away from me in southern California. I know that I need this program, but I can't get it due to its limitations. I know that I need help.

I responded to your other post and thought I would add that if you have a well trained bereavement counselor, that person will be able to deal with complicated grief. Check out the ADEC link I posted at your other post.

Anna, my dear, I am so sorry to learn of the death of your precious daughter, and I hope you will accept our heartfelt sympathy for your loss.

Without knowing the details of your situation, I am curious as to how you arrived at the conclusion that your grief is so complicated that you're unable to find any help at all.

I understand that someone has told you that your grief is "complicated," but I am curious as to how you yourself understand that term. Those of us who practice in the field of grief and bereavement aren't even in agreement about its exact meaning. See, for example, my article, What Is Complicated Grief?

I'm also left to wonder, since you say you've tried both individual and group therapy, whether the therapists involved were specialists in grief therapy or grief counseling. You might find this article to be of interest: Seeing A Specialist In Grief Counseling: Does It Matter?
