Yes, sometimes grief can feel overwhelming.  I've found it helps to break it down into something more doable, staying in the moment, limiting grieving to certain intervals, giving myself a small break from it (if possible).  Of course that's not always realistic when one is new to grief, but as time goes on...

It's also why mindfulness and paying attention to your breathing can be so helpful, Finch. Grief and the anxiety that sometimes goes along with it can indeed leave us breathless, and at those times we need to pay attention to our breath and consciously and deliberately change our breathing pattern. Keep remembering to live in the moment, yes the breathing helps, trying to dispel the anxious thoughts that come and replace them with positive ones.  I deal with this too, dear Finch, I think there is a lot of people here that can relate to battling anxiety.
