The holidays are a time for coming together and appreciating all we have. Hospice of the Valley is grateful for your support, which enables us to make a positive difference in the lives of those we serve every day.

Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community awards grant

Hospice of the Valley has been awarded a $150,000 grant from the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community to support compassionate care to children nearing the end of life. The grant funds will be used for direct patient and family care, administrative support and grief support through the New Song Center for Grieving Children, a program of Hospice of the Valley. New Song Center for Grieving Children expands services to East Valley

New Song Center for Grieving Children will offer grief support groups to East Valley families in January at a new Gilbert location on the campus of Rancho Solano Private Schools, 1305 S. Gilbert Road. For details, click here.

"Light Up a Life" captured in pictures

More than 1,500 people gathered to honor and memorialize family members and friends at Hospice of the Valley's annual "Light Up a Life" event on Nov. 20. The Sunday evening celebration included a photographic slide show set to music against the night sky, and attendees hung ornaments in memory of their loved ones. Volunteer honored as a 'Senior Star'

Jane Conrow, a 10-year HOV volunteer, has been honored for her exceptional service as part of an awards program promoting volunteerism in conjunction with the State of Arizona's Centennial in February 2012.
