It's been an award-winning season for Hospice of the Valley. We're proud to share the news of several prestigious honors recognizing our work in the community.

HOV's Maribeth Gallagher wins international and national awards

Maribeth Gallagher, director of Hospice of the Valley's dementia program, received first place in the "non-cancer" category of an awards program sponsored by the International Journal of Palliative Nursing. More details. She also was named Program Manager of the Year by the Visiting Nurse Associations of America. Read More.

IMPACT award cites Hospice of the Valley as "Community Champion"

Hospice of the Valley has been awarded the IMPACT award for "Community Champion" by the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce. The award honors those who "meaningfully give back to the local community; foster employee growth and development; promote a positive work environment or high performance among employees; and (maintain) community investment and employee engagement in charitable activities." Season for Sharing grant supports 11th Hour Companion Program

Hospice of the Valley has received a $30,000 grant from The Arizona Republic/12 News Season for Sharing to support the agency's 11th Hour Companion Program. "This Season for Sharing grant will enable us to expand our services to support more patients and their families through the recruitment of new 11th Hour volunteers and the retention of current volunteers who offer their presence at the bedside," said Lynn Tolmachoff, manager of the 11th Hour Program. Art auction raises $260,000 for patient careAAHA!

An Auction of Heirlooms & Art, held March 3 at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa, raised $260,000 for indigent patient care and services not covered by insurance. Inspired by the television series "Mad Men," set in the 1960s Madison Avenue advertising world, the event oozed sophistication, cocktails and fun.
