  1. Oh Gin, so glad you checked in. Sure not a part of nature you want to experience. Be safe and keep in touch when you can. Hugs from the "tribe".
  2. I just read that tornados hit Chicago yesterday evening. I think that is where Gin is. Sure hope she is safe.
  3. Kay, your DIL obviously thinks only of herself. Sure not a good example for the kids. I wonder how your son puts up with it. If there's a body shop in town, maybe they could reattach that piece for you?
  4. Kay, don't you think it might be better for Kodie if they visit through a fence for a while, at least until Jazzy can be better trained. I hope she doesn't turn on you!
  5. Well, I'm really bummed, depressed and feeling sorry for myself, I guess. I saw the new dentist today and he seems nice enough and does have 30 years of experience. He's just not my old dentist.😐 None of my remaining damaged teeth can be saved so will all need extracted and will need dentures. (I'm still paying on the unusable partials from 2 years ago). Dentures and extractions will cost me $2000 out of pocket, with insurance paying the remainder. Better than nothing, I guess. Not looking forward to the pain for sure(I'm a wimp) and it takes me twice as long to heal. I decided to have extractions done in 3 visits. Don't think I could stand them all at once. Am going to check again with my doctor about blood test results so I can decide what to do about my eyes. Another fun day in the "Golden Years".....
  6. Wow Kay! Jazzy seems to be getting rough with Kodie. She needs to learn that he is not a chew toy! Good luck with the Murray situation.
  7. Good to know that she's still fighting the good fight, Kay. Seems that doctors have really screwed her over with all these drugs. And then there's Dee..... Sending healing thoughts and good vibes her way.
  8. Same here, Marg. So not like her to be absent for so long. Usual stupidity around here. I saw my doctor on Monday supposedly to discuss his consultation with my opthamologist. He couldn't even remember if there was a consultation, said he'd check my records. So I asked about a blood test for Myasthenia Gravis which he ordered, but it's highly unlikely. Had messages today from a neurosurgeon and a neurological ophthalmologist for appointments. Checked with doctor's office and blood test results not even ready yet. Sounds like the cart has been put before the horse. I'm on hold while somebody looks for their ass.
  9. Thanks Kay. I can try a couple of them, not the balance one or walking on a board though. What BS at that restaurant! Maybe you ought to let the health dept. know about the "no water" situation. Glad you had a nice lunch except for that.
  10. Kay, to be honest, I never tried the exercises. If you could send me the link again, I'll save it. I'm also going to mention this to my doctor. I don't seem to have a dominant eye. Can see fine one eye at a time, but together there are 2 side by side images overlapping. Anything farther than about 3' away. I have had dental insurance through MetLife since I worked for the phone company. Coverage has never seemed to keep up with rising dental costs, but better than none at all I guess. It paid a portion of the upper and lower partial bridges my old dentist made. Rarely wore them as Covid kept me home. They were uncomfortable and no longer fit because of more lost teeth. Just have to see what this new dentist comes up with.
  11. My son's leg is getting better. He's been staying off of it. I went with him for groceries today to help the best I could. We both have a doctor's appt. on Mon. Another step on the slow journey of trying to figure out my vision problem. It seems to be getting worse but I can still get along okay in the house. Hope Scott's hand is okay. Sounds like he has enough on his plate already. My new dental appt. is July 5. Anbesol is my best friend right now. Hoping he can save my last few teeth. Not likely.
  12. Kay, hope you have a nice lunch with your daughter. I'm sure it will be a real treat for Kodie to go. A bit of crazy around here. Of course, this old woman who sees double for some reason and now my son with a weird one. He came limping home middle of work shift Tues. night. He had an infected toenail and the infection spread up his leg to the groin(red line and pain). Went to the doctor Wed. morning, got a shot and antibiotics. Fortunately his boss called and gave him vacation early so he wouldn't miss any pay(which he can't afford). He's pretty much laid up for now. Sure a time when I need to be able to get to the store for groceries. Not happening! Maybe in a couple of days, we can manage it together. Cancelled our dental appts. which were today and rescheduled for later. We both have doctor appts. coming up Mon. I just call it "the Kennedy curse". Too bad the money didn't come with the name. lol Marg, sure hope your lousy weather improves. I saw the destruction left by the tornado in Matador, Tx. So awful and scary! Dee, hope you are enjoying summer in your beautiful setting. Expecting 113 in a few days(actually below normal). Can't wait! lol
  13. V, it is nice to hear from you and to see that you are moving forward. Do that at your own pace and disregard the comments of those who don't understand. It has been 10 years since Ron left and yet there are times when it seems like yesterday. I think it will forever be that way. Some bonds are never broken. Congratulations to your daughter. I understand the mixed emotions. My son graduated the week we buried his father. He would have been so proud. Take care. Sending peace to your heart.
  14. Marg, I just saw the news about the awful weather happening in your area. Glad to hear you are safe, although miserable for sure. 102 here, but dry as a bone.
  15. Kay, I hope Jazzy was gentle when she picked him up. Maybe she sensed he was hurting and was trying to be motherly? Has she done that before?
  16. Finally connected with my PCP's office and of course, he wants to see me. I have an appt. on 6-26. Supposedly he wants me to see a neurologist and a neurologic opthamologist(whatever that is). Not sure I want to get involved in all that. If something serious, I can't afford the meds anyway. Should have just opted for the fancy glasses and moved on. Trying out a new dentist next week that my son found through the dental insurance he recently purchased. He and my grandson said the dentist recommended by our retired dentist was "an obnoxious prick". They both need a lot of dental work. I'm just hoping he can save my last few teeth..... As usual, falling apart faster than I can keep up with. Seems age 70 was a catalyst for ongoing physical breakdown. Such is life.... Broke my heart to see that actor Treat Williams was killed in a motorcycle accident. Really liked him especially after watching " Everwood" earlier this year. Hang in there, Gwen. Hoping it will get easier soon, on both fronts.
  17. So sorry that you fell, Gwen. Just glad you are okay. Has Dee seen anyone about her sleepwalking? Take care. We love you.
  18. Also worried Gwen! Where are you? Kay, what happened to Kodie? Did he have surgery? Found out last week that my PCP did have a consultation with my opthamologist. Still waiting for a call back about the outcome. Not holding my breath. Getting kind of used to walking around with one eye closed. lol
  19. Your typing started out okay and then got wonky. A bit hard to interpret. First I've heard of Dee's sleepwalking. Another round of craziness from her. Not sure what might help except sleep meds. Sorry to hear about your DVD mess. I know you use it a lot. The last time I tried mine, a message said it wasn't connected. Maybe Marley pulled something loose when she jumped behind the TV because of a loud noise. Will have Robert check it out if I can remember.
  20. Leg cramps can be caused by low potassium, magnesium, or calcium, a result of frequent urination due to BP meds that a lot of us "older" folks take. I take three and visit the bathroom often. I have gotten cramps in my arches and toes for many years. Wakes you right up for sure.
  21. Almost missed your birthday, George. Hope it was a nice one. Enjoy your time with your sister.
  22. Marg, I am so sorry. I know you loved your little car, but it can be replaced. You can't, so "Yes, please", get yourself to the ER ASAP. There could be things wrong inside that you can't see. You're absolutely doing the right thing letting your insurance take care of everything. That's what you pay them for. Can Brianna come and stay with you for a while until you're feeling better?
  23. Gwen, I'm just glad to hear from you. I'm not sure I understand what your relationship with Dee is exactly, only that her relationship with alcohol has evidently existed for a long time. I doubt that it's possible to end that alone. If she doesn't, eventually whatever love you have for her will fade and turn to resentment. Can she not see what she is doing to you? There are no easy answers. I just wish for peace in your heart and home.
  24. Worried about Gwen, too. Hope she's just having internet problems.
  25. Gwen, maybe Dee could get you a tooth repair kit at the drugstore. Should be able to temporarily fix your crowns. Kay, so sorry to hear about little Vincent. How is he doing? Tourists here have already started suffering heat exhaustion requiring mountain rescue as they climb our local "mountains". Not high, but rugged to climb. Not quite 100 yet, but will certainly get worse with more fatalities as summer progresses. Tourists don't comprehend the dangers of exertion in this heat.
