I am going to my sister's this afternoon for Christmas dinner. My Dad has decided to not come because he is afraid to pass the shingles virus to us. He has medicine and is feeling better. This Christmas season has hit me harder than last year. The reality of Rose Anne's absence haunts me. Our weather Is warm (50s)

Thank you, Arlie has been struggling to heal, have him on special diet, he had vomiting and diarrhea yesterday so took him off food for 24 hours, back on it this morning, waiting to see how he does. He has been such a blessing to me, I'm glad it was me that got to be his mom as I know a lot of people would not go to the lengths I have to help him with his Colitis problems.
I didn't know Shingles could be spread to people, I'd assumed it was secondary from Chicken Pox virus that doesn't leave our body. Did your father have the Shingles vaccination? I know it's not a guarantee, but lessens our odds. I'm sorry for him, it's a painful thing to go through.
This seemed like a Christmas that wasn't, my first one alone without my daughter.-

no, my Dad did not have the shingles shot. He is slowly recovering but it is painfully slow. I read that it was not contagious yet the literature with his medications said to be careful not to spread it to other people. For some reason this Christmas without Rose Anne has hit me harder than last year. The reality of her absence in my life is a stark reminder. I miss her so much... it hurts. - Shalom

I was joking because quite frankly our government does wish we'd die so they wouldn't have to pay us what we've worked for all our lives. I'm glad your visit/trip went well. Everything you speak of sounds so familiar...the crying, the difficulty visiting places we've been together...I remember having a hard time getting groceries after George died because that was something we always did together.
