  1. I watched one, it was okay, haven't since. Keep pretty busy with diabetic and grief groups and the animals/walking. Had Christmas Eve with neighbors, it was so fun, 8 kids! Noisy, busy, fun. Are you moved in yet? Have yourself a Merry little Christmas!
  2. Yes she disinfected it and bandaged it, I'm changing the dressing every day so it doesn't get stuck to the bandaid. Another neighbor offered to get me firewood in, but I'd already done so this morning, just brought a smaller load up, probably should start doing that anyway now that I'm older. One thing did make me mad, their thinking their dog hadn't bitten me but I'm just older and have thin skin, hell no, I had someone medical look at it at church and he said it's obviously a dog bite, you don't get the wounds all the way around the arm if you just fell on it. And I didn't just "fall," the dog shoved me down with great force.
  3. Yes, we need tetanus shots every ten years, I had my last one four years ago.d Yes the dog is up on shots. I tried to go to urgent care in Springfield today (about 1 1/4 hours away) and they wouldn't see me "because it's Christmas." I tried ER in Cottage Grove (a little further away) and they said the same thing. I said "I'm sorry a dog bit me at Christmas." Unreal! Then I get home and Iris messaged me questioning my motives for wanting to go to urgent care. I didn't feel it deserved a response (she hasn't seen the wounds which go clear around my arm). Everyone at church encouraged me to go. 馃槨
  4. I was attacked by my neighbor's dog last night, took them some homemade bread I made them for Christmas and they'd forgot to shut their gate so when they let him outside, he made a beeline for me, knocked me down, bit my arm up pretty good, my knees are bruised. I was pretty thankful he didn't go for my face. They thought I got bloodied from falling, umm, no, your dog bit me pretty badly. I don't get bloodied up like that from falling. It's pretty swollen today, hurts like the dickens. Can't use it for anything. Ought to be fun getting firewood in and shoveling snow this month.
  5. Panther dosn't want anything special, so no. Even canned catfood he turns down, maybe I'lll try him on some tuna...he even turns down cheese. Yeah, wish I'd made it with plain hamburger or at least 1 lb plain, 1 lb. taco meat, too strong, can't wait until it's all gone! Want to make cheeseburger soup again, it's my favorite soup, so good! Wow, I can't believe you can't get movers...but I remember how everything halts at the holidays. Wishing you a good Christmas! Will spend with neighbors, DIL cancelled on me and my daughter plans to see me next Saturday, will drive into Eugene for it. Hoping it doesn't snow.
  6. Dee, thank you for your wishes, Marg, don't get naked. Not necessary for eyes! I've had eyes operated on (not cataracts yet) and didn't even gown up. May get to see my daughter in a week, haven't heard from my son. Dee, your incredible energy! I send $ too, that way no one is disappointed. Gave the grandkids a raise this year.
  7. Wishing you all a good Christmas! Two weeks I was sick, just getting over it...
  8. No, unfortunately I made a casserole that will last a week unless I freeze it...and I don't care for it but don't want to toss the ingredients, it took a lb of cheese, two pounds of taco meat, eggs, a brick of cream cheese, etc. Your brother will sign, you will too, it will be fine. It's about to be behind you.
  9. Today is day 13 being sick, no, no music or any special food, I've missed all Christmas celebrations, first year no tree. Was hoping to celebrate the 23rd at my DIL's parents but now they're saying snow Fri night/Saturday. So need to get groceries this week before the weather turns. Refrigerator is empty. I had a laugh at your getting yourself some presents. I got a toilet bowl brush on Amazon for $1.47, can't beat that! My 40+ years one gave up the ghost. Kodie is my joy, I don't know what I'd do w/o him. Panther might run if I played music for him. He's very wild but I went out on the patio and held him yesterday, he purred. That's as domesticated as he gets. Nine days ago my neighbor/handyman had a bad accident. He has six ribs that fractured in 12 places, also his T6, T12, and L1, he was in the hospital a week, they put him in a full brace. He can't bend, twist, lift, basically that's everything. Don't know if he'll make a full recovery but if anyone can get through this, he will. He was in amazing shape to start with, more energy than anyone I know. His name is Jack, we call him Jack of all trades. Also his car was stolen after the accident so they could strip it. 馃槨 A neighbor from Dowell Towing and another neighbor went looking for it, found it on Dead Mountain, called the sherriff and they said if they file a report they can't tow it to his place, so they didn't do a report, they towed it to his yard. So upsetting people can get so low, this is a small town, they knew who it belonged to, but my neighbors...they're a big part of why I'm here. That and the nature. Remind me of that Saturday when I'm missing everything and it's snowing... Good luck on your new place! Having problems with an ex-SIL she hasn't been in my family for 23 years yet she's stalking me, called here 21 times Friday! I can't get calls back from my dermatologist! She's nuts! I've had her blocked for eight months but still she calls, it rings in once and quits. I may have to get a restraining order but this isn't a good time to deal with it. I picked up the phone last night and gave her hell. Who does this! Kodie is being an angel, he is just so well behaved, I appreciate him so much. Do you have a moving company helping you move into the apt? Just wondering how you're handling furniture.
  10. Oh no! I hope he's okay! Let us know what you find out...馃檹馃檹馃檹
  11. Can you bungle something to get fired?
  12. My last job was my worst, boss behind paying me, stole everyone's IRA contributions and never paid them to the gov't, didn't pay his taxes, gov't wanted to take my bank account until I showed them I wasn't a signer (he tried to add me on to his bank account, I refused), then they tried to take another employee's $ until I proved to them he had no awareness of any of this (he was a signer), so important to protect yourself! It was the only job who hired me during recession. When he laid me off the last time, no cards or fanfare, just suddenly retired with no $. I made it and never looked back. Keep knowing your own worth! Make a list of your accomplishments in your career and remind yourself of them often. I had some daily affirmations I'd listen to that helped. Put a sign on your bathroom mirror telling yourself your own worth and refer to it daily! I suggested this to my daughter when her husband left her and she says "I DO that!!!" So neat that mom and daughter both figured out how to get through difficult times...I did that when her dad left. We are here for you. Come here and post daily or when you want to, we are here for you. (((hugs)))
  13. I'm sorry they made you feel some kind of way, they could use a lesson in how to support your employees/coworkers! Lift your head up and know who and how you are, and it's not how they make you feel.馃挅
  14. Did you do this picture? So cute! Finally showing signs of improvement the last couple of days but still a long ways to go. Still go out walking. Coughing up stuff blowing nose, can't breathe, yay. No energy. Good for you! How do they expect to be Mr. homeowner if they don't try? Doesn't sound major. We'll see how serious they are. Sounds like they want something for nothing. Want away!
  15. I am well aware of it in OR, mostly dog parks, hasn't hit the local park where our runners run, etc. Mostly older dogs or dogs hit with other ailments. Thanks for looking out for us! Most of Kodie's playtime is with Jazzy in her yard.
  16. Kevin, you're included in this, we see you often in the positives thread, but if you're here, weigh in! (Not literally)
  17. No, concussion still there but bumped my head the car so that didn't help. Right now I have the nastiest bug, knocked me down like none other, even Covid wasn't this bad. Showing slight improvement, day 7 but who is counting. Missing all Christmas celebrations. No one to help me get the tree up, so first year w/o one but it's so close now why bother. The guy that does all of my home stuff, cleaning chimney, roof, gutters, cutting/limbing trees, track in front of carport, his name is Jack (we call him Jack of all trades) he had a horrific accident Saturday and is in the hospital, six ribs with 12 breaks, T-12, T-6, L-1 all broken, they have him in ICU in a brace, he can wiggle all toes and fingers so that is good, and is finally able to eat food but not hungry. His son can cut firewood but no idea who I'll get for the chimney. It'd cost a fortune to hire from the valley, hoping I can get my son to come do it come spring. All of us neighbors are putting cards and $ into his mailbox...see why I love my neighbors! Also, one from towing company and another neighbor went to get his car...someone stole it. They found it on Dead Mountain, stripped of battery & who knows what else. They talked to sherriff and he said if they're going to get it to do so w/o reporting because once reported they can't. So they hauled it home. I haven't seen it yet, will do so today. I'm sure it's a scary sight. Again, love my neighbors. Oh no, Karen! Hope you continue improving! I'm hit hard too, neighbor Iris infected me then said she "chooses to believe she doesn't catch things." Her way of absolving herself. Infuriating, this is super nasty, hard to even think! Kodie had a great escape, we took him to the next town for surgery, leaving here at 6 am to be there when they opened at 8, three hours later they said he doesn't need the surgery and sent us home with medicine! He was beyond ecstatic! Bounding in cone-less with a huge grin on his face! That is the day I got hit with this. My taste, voice, breathing, everything is affected, Covid was negative but who knows with home tests. Halloween is when I got my concussion. I'm glad you're over this now!! Hmm, quote seems to have quit working...Gin I hope you can make him a scaled down version! That's sweet. Sure miss my kids. Spent Thanksgiving at my daughter's BF's Mom's house, I felt right at home 15 of us, it was wonderful! Marg, you're staying well thank God! We have to stay together even though infrequent, in a way I feel Gwen kept us all together, God I miss her, she's always on my heart even when my brain won't work!

Definitely vote oven although it takes forever to heat up! But hey, can leave the oven door afterwards and use up some of the heat in the house...only 30 in here!
  19. We left at 6 am to have him there at 8 am, I went back there about 11 or so and they said the doctor had just planned to call me...assistant came up with him bounding in, grinning ear to ear, she had his cone in her hand! Also a bottle of Rx med as the surgeon said it's allergies, not inversion! I was surprised, she'd concurred when she saw the picture of his eye, then changed her mind upon examination. I'm not 1000% convinced, but hoping it's so. So far his eyelids haven't changed since getting the medicine. Then I started feeling rough on the way home, have been super sick ever since, so I guess it's a good thing I called off my son and granddaughter coming to help put up the Christmas tree! First year I haven't had one but too sick to care. Hoping to be well before Christmas, missing all the festivities. Kodie is my bright light in this world, what keeps me going! He's such a good boy, so sweet! Here's a picture his breeder took of him right before I adopted him. (He was on his dining room table next to Christmas decorations). He uses it in his group page...he always felt Kodie was a favorite!
  20. Wow, it doesn't seem possible she is 24! Seems yesterday she was 16.
  21. Wishing you well with the realtor, etc. I am proud of you for how well you've handled it all, you're quite amazing! I don't know anything about your field, but I do know some may look for more than just a degree and there has to be the right fit for YOU! You already know what I think of your brother, sorry, but won't comment...
  22. I don't want to go to the doctor, it doesn't involve lungs, no wheezing, so I just need to get through this, coughing up green stuff temp 97.7/8 instead of usual 97.2/3, doubt that's significant and it could be because I'm in a warm robe. Snowed last night, shoveled ramp as it's slippery if I don't, car in carport, it can stay there. I take those vitamins already, drinking tea. Have fire going.
  23. Thank you Marty and Marg, it just keeps getting worse. It snowed last night. Pretty, Kodie will like it. First shoveling of the season, thankfully not much.
