Looking for Beth

I think about 2% of our population here is homeless, so sad!  We are NOT a city with resources.  We do have some lovely young people heading up feeding them and a shelter if it's cold enough.  How sad that freezing isn't cold enough!  I see them pushing carts laden with all their earthly belongings, getting old before their time.  It's sad that American has so many living like this.  When I went to Denmark years ago one of the things that struck me was there WERE no slums!  People took so much pride in the looks of their places and unemployment was number one priority, everyone paid their fair share of taxes, which were high, but it took care of everyone too and they all had higher pay than here.  For instance, you couldn't fix your own electrical light when it went bad, even if you had the knowledge, because it took a job away from someone else.  Makes sense put like that, whatever, it was working!  I hope it hasn't changed.
