kayc
"in the beginning you feel like you have a big empty hole inside you that comes from your loss. Then after a few years and many oceans of tears, you realize that the big empty hole that used to be filled with pain is still there, but it is filled with love instead."That is a beautiful description of what happens in time, but it does take time to reach that point. Grieving evolves from pain, panic, shock, of such intensity, into eventually feeling that person inside of you as a source of comfort, strength and encouragement and memories that bring a smile...but it takes time for it to reach that point and there are times that the missing them overtakes you and evokes tears even then. gatorman
Just being 3 weeks into this I feel what you say. If it were not for the cat that we acquired before my wife passed I would probably be out of my mind more than I/We are at these times.
