I just found this on another site and have to share it with you.

It brought some comfort to me, I hope it does so for some others

"In The Light" -Author Unknown

A Shadow of joy flickered; it is me. I told you I wouldn't leave.

My spirit is with you.

My memories, my thoughts are imbedded deep in your heart. I still love you.

Do not for one moment think that you have been abandoned. I am in the Light.

In the corner, in the hall, the car, the yard - these are the places I stay with you.

My spirit rises every time you pray for me, but my energy comes closer to you.

Love does not diminish, it grows stronger.

I am the feather that finds you in the yard, the dimmed light that grows brighter in your mind,

I place our memories for you to see.

We lived in our special way, a way that now has its focus changed.

I still crave your understanding and long for the many words of prayer and good fortune for my soul. I am in the Light.

As you struggle to adjust without me, I watch silently.

Sometimes I summon up all the strength of my new world to make you notice me.

Impressed by your grief, I try to impress my love deeper into your consciousness.

As you should, I call out to the Heavens for help.

You should know that the fountain of youth does exist.

My soul is now healthy. Your love sends me new found energy.

I am adjusting to this new world. I am with you and I am in the Light.

Please don't feel bad that you can't see me. I am with you wherever you go.

I protect you, just as you protected me so many times.

Talk to me and some how I will find a way to answer you.

When you feel despair, reach out to me. I will come.

My love for you truly does transcend from Heaven to Earth.

Finish your life with the enthusiasm and zest that you had when we were together in the physical sense.

You owe this to me, but more importantly, you owe it to yourself.

Life continues for both of us.

I am with you because I love you and I am in the Light.

Thank you so much for sharing that poem-it is so beautiful as I read it I began to cry, not because I was sad just because that is how I feel, knowing he is still with me and that I must go on without him(physically) is the only real comfort I have right now. Thank you Thank you Thank you!

I am going to make a copy and bring it to my group-I am sure they will all relate also. Lossing someone is so hard, but I am amazed at the compassion that two people that would not maybe normally be friends can really help one another. I have some handouts from my group I would like to print on the forum-maybe to help others, but not today-I live in Florida and we are trying to prepare for the storm, if it hits us???

Love and Peace to you

I hope that the Hurricane does you no harm - please keep safe and let us know how you make out.

I look forward to reading the handouts that you use - everything helps - and we all need help from time to time.

I lost my husband 4 months ago tomorrow. I still cry like it was yesterday and I don't think that time really takes away the pain but we just deal with it.

Walt, that is the most amazing poem. When I think my husband has gone on I get another sign. He lets me know that he is still with me loving and help guiding me. Thank you so much.

Good morning princess

I am sorry to read about your recent loss. My heart goes out to you.

I agree with you that time will never take away this pain that we suffer.

I don't expect it to leave ever, but somehow we have to deal with it - that's what our partners want.

I am glad that the poem helps you, like it helps me. I read it often when I get depressed.

I have no doubt that your husband will always love you and be there to guide you through these very very troubled times.

Kindest regards.

Walt C.

This poem is very poignant, it hurts so bad I can hardly bear to read it.
