Last Sunday I lost my beloved Molly. We had been together for over 16 years. We had been together since the day she was born. She moved with me several times and for several years it was just the two of us. She loved to sit in my lap and purr. For a couple of years she was slowing down and she cried if you didn't pick her up carefully. Other than that she was fine. A few weeks ago she started breathing funny and her abdomen went in and out when she breathed. She would lie on a blanket all day until I took her outside to potty. She only ate a little bit. I was considering taking her to the vet on Monday to maybe say goodbye. Saturday night I carefully set her in the garage where her bed was next to the furnace and kissed her goodnight. Sunday I opened the garage door and she was lying right in front of the door where I had set her the night before. She never moved from the spot where I put her so I guess she was gone almost immediately. I couldn't even tell my daughter because she had a dance performance that day. I am still feeling numb but my arms miss cuddling her. It is really hard to believe she is gone. It is like losing a part of yourself.

I am so sorry about your beloved Molly. My George cat lived to 19, it's hard when we've had them so long and then lose them. It's the daily routines with them that we miss so much, they're so unique and worm their way into our hearts. You are in my thoughts...

I keep looking for Molly to come running up when I go outside or when I get home. She always looked at me like she understood what I was saying/feeling. Last Sunday I stayed home from church all alone because my back hurt. I was sitting watching TV and my arms wanted to cuddle her and my fingers wanted to pet her soft fur.

I know, it's really hard, it will be like that for a long time to come. It's not that our missing them ever goes away, but eventually we get more used to it. :(

I just lost my dog like this. I received a call from my daughter at work saying our Becky passed away. She had been sick just a few days. She was lactose intolerant I had given her a few cherrios not thinking. She got loose stools. I was going to take her to the vet today if she was not better but passed laying by my daughters bedroom door. I feel so bad. I should have taken her sooner. She was 13 yrs old.My daughter was beside herself. I feel so awful......

chloie,

I am sorry to hear about your dog. My son's dog has a lot of digestive problems (he's a purebread Husky) and can't have gluten among many other things. A child gave him one chocolate chip cookie last week and the dog was in so much distress afterwards and it took a few days for his system to calm down, meanwhile it always worries us as we never know what the outcome will be when something like this happens. My heart goes out to you in your loss, I am just so truly sorry.

Kay
