I've heard that they use it on dogs that have joint problems as well.  Don't know anything about that, but if it helps...

I’ve tried the CBD versions (no thc) in creams and drops.  I always hated pot highs.  Anyway, they seemed to helped but I still didn’t like the feeling, maybe it was psychosomatic.  I have Vicodin I rarely use now.  Pretty much dependent on Tylenol which is good, but no anti inflammatory help.  Steve used pot a lot for pain.  He used the real deal.  Kevin, you a Jimmy Buffet type?  😋

My mama was a lot of things, but one of those was a "tough old bird."  Back after Daddy left us, don't know when exactly, she started complaining about her legs hurting.  Going to the doctor was out of the question, she only went to him if she was sick.  She was not sick, she was hurting.  In the last month or so, probably about the same age as Mama was, my legs hurt from my knees on down.  No, not leg cramps.  I saw Billy turn a complete somersault in the bed once with a leg cramp.  Woke me up, I saw him turning the somersault and I remember thinking "well, if this was the Olympics, I would give him a 10."  He and his dad had leg cramps that would make them jump out of bed.  (Of course he hit the floor that time too).  My son has them.  These are not cramps, just aches that get damn bothersome.  My sister says I need a Celestone shot in my knee.  (I don't think so!!!)  I did have one of the x-rays of my legs, MRI or CT or something back a few years ago when I had a bunch of veins show up.  My grandmother's legs were a road map of blue road broken veins.  She kept on walking.  I guess I will too cause wrapping them does not help.  I wear high soft diabetic socks the doctor recommended.  I don't have diabetes.  Some of the old ways help.

Kevin,

I take SAMe (It's OTC, I get mine on eBay or Amazon).  I did go over it with my doctor, it's good for joint, mood, and liver support.

My regiment as of late is Turmeric, Omega 3,and my Green smoothie.....and I take Ibuprofen in the morning.......The oil will eliminate the Ibuprofen ,which in turn ,will reduce blood pressure(I hope).......everything in moderation, and that includes working the joints too hard.....

I'm not supposed to eat chocolate, but I want some of those brownies.  Can't we make them without chocolate.  Vanilla brownies.  Blond brownies?  Oh, I cannot have fiber, bet those things have a bunch of fiber.  Oh heck.

Oh, I can eat anything that is bad for people.  One thing I can eat that is good for people is cooked carrots, green beans, spinach, beets, potatoes, even sweet potatoes, cake, ice cream, almost all fried foods (except okra, squash, anything with seeds or nuts in it).  I live on fried chicken.  Has to be flour covered.  Nothing corn at all.........but grits.  I can have grits, and that is strange.  It is mostly just a low residue diet without much fiber, if any.  No pickles, raw onions, cornbread, chocolate, coconut, celery, no raw veggies.  I have put on a lot of weight with apple fritters.  I did hide Cheetos but Bri found them.  They were taken away from me, as well as pineapple sherbet.  I love that stuff, but not supposed to have pineapple.  I made a good guacamole using a powder mix and sifting the powder into it.  I can have flour tortilla's.   I don't suffer.  No liquor.  I found a picture the girls had thrown a party for me my last visit to MD Anderson.  I had not eaten and I had 3 Margarita's straight.  My eyes look like I'm fixing to pass out.  After throwing up lots and not letting anyone in the downstairs bathroom, I came out and said "someone better call Billy" and passed smooth out.  And the girls had rented me a John Holmes porno movie to celebrate.  I didn't get to see it.

I guess mild mannered medical transcriptionists can get a little wild sometimes.  I sure was a lot younger then.

It’s a shame some of the best tasting food is the worst fir us.  I love Caesar salads, but only the romaine is really good for you.  Love fried chicken too, but can’t tolerate the coating so have to take it off.  Still tastes fried tho!  Thank gawd fir I’ve cream.  Can at least say there is some calcium.  😋

And they had a big recall of the romaine lettuce somewhere, California I guess, but I am sure it was sent out all over the USA.  Take that fresh vegetables and washing them, let them soak, or whatever.  A neighbor when I was a teenager was very ill from some disease he got from not properly washed vegetables.

I'm extremely allergic to fish so can only have flaxseed oil, not as good as fish oil, but...

I also have a green smoothie every day.  I've heard wonderful things about Turmeric, it's good for dogs as well.  Good luck on your regimen, when you find something that works, stick with it!

Kevin,

Admire your tenacity!  You have a new place already?!  You'll have to get a video of you doing Karaoke and post it for us!

Haven't bought anything yet but have decided on a "Rural Mobile Home City" called Parkland Village.......Fees are $450 Month and that to me is reasonable.....Now smaller yard ,and half the House, for a Quarter of the price........Has to last me 10 more years, give or take, then to the "no yard or shoveling " option.....

Ahh Kevin, sorry to tell you this but you probably have a good thirty more years, but even so, that sounds like a good option, one I've considered for myself on down the road.  There's a place in Westfir OR called Casey's that is kept really nice, I'd consider it, about the same pricing.

  • 1 month later...

Planned to go to my son's Friday, it seems everything was working against it.  I got an inner and outer ear canal infection so had to go to the doctor, couldn't get in until after noon so that held up my leaving.  Had a teenager come feed Arlie while I was gone, he wouldn't let her walk him and his Colitis acted up again, undoubtedly due to separation anxiety.  I worried about him while I was gone.  I had to get three Rxs, one was over $100, they told me AFTER I filled it that I "may or may not need it"...after paying that much I was jolly well going to use it!  The antibiotic, however, made me really sick so I cut my trip a bit short, coming home Sunday morning instead of afternoon.  Just as well, I was exhausted!  Arlie cried when he saw me again.  Kitty was peeved and wouldn't come to me for hours.  Haha, difference between a dog and a cat!  :D

I enjoyed my son and grandkids.  I, who usually am in bed 8-8:30 pm stayed up to 11:30 pm to visit with my son!  Read the same book to my granddaughter about 15 times.  Got to cuddle my grandson who turned one in March (normally I can't because he wants his mom but she was gone so my son and I both got to hold him!).  Saturday we took a hike at Silver Falls, it's gorgeous!  I hadn't been there since George and I were there.

This spring we had unusual weather.  One day, the letter carrier came by and said our parking lot was flooded.  When I went out, the water was just barely up to the bottom of my car.  it appears in the weeks since that I dodged a bullet.  The thing is, when I pulled in that morning, someone else had parked in the space assigned to me, to I'd parked in another space.  Had I parked in my own, water would have come up over the bottom of my door, and my car would have almost surely been totaled.
