And for goodness sake, drive safely!

For goodness sake, I did drive carefully...and for my sake, also. :) thank you, dear Marty! Home safely!

Glad to hear you made it home safely! After my experience the night before last, you can't take anything for granted!

Thank you, Kay. It feels ever so good to be home. We are on about day 589 of rain and cold days here and I am loving it but I am pretty positive I stand alone. The fog and rain just feels like a big blanket around me and as I look to the next week...more is coming. The greens are so rich and deep with all this rain and it is so cozy. I am doing a lot of nothing today...I was so tired last night I was sick...woke up at about 4am and have napped on and off today. Every workshop I attended hit home in some way personally. It is not like attending a workshop on just about anything other than grief and death right now but the whole conference was overall a source of insight for me and I will share some of that later.

I do agree...driving is always risky though none of us think of that often until we have a close call. So glad you are safe and I hope the adrenalin slowed down by now. Peace, Mary

Mary,

I can't imagine attending something that touches on grief with such magnitude, it must be very emotional and exhausting!

I'm sorry you felt sick last night, I don't think I could handle your pace.

I need some prayer in the next few months, I have some "financial planning" decisions to make that will affect my entire future and am trying to make sense of it all and am praying for guidance in knowing what to do. It's not simple because other things enter in (boss, gov't decisions, etc).

Kay, yes, it is emotional and exhausting but that is counterbalanced a lot by my desire to learn more about the entire field and to learn more about my own journey. But yes, it wiped me out. I feel better physically today and made myself some basmati for dinner with some veggies. Comfort food.

I will certainly keep you in my thoughts and prayers as you deal with finances. It is never simple, is it? And your boss does not make it easier. I have everyone here on my growing prayer list but I will keep your intentions in my heart in a special way in the days ahead. I hope the process is easier than anticipated.

Peace to your heart,

Mary

Kay, you can be sure that you have my prayers for your "financial planning" decisions. I am sure that all of us here will have you in our thoughts. You know that we all love you and want only the best for you. This is a time I wish we could all gather together and help you but I know that there are things that we have to do on our own. Just know that I am walking with you as you work on this.

Thank you, both of you.

I just got my pickup back from some needed maintenance and they told me the "noise/banging" I've been hearing is...I need a new exhaust system. Someone had cobbed together an exhaust pipe (the thing that goes to the muffler) in such a way it is barely hanging on and bangs against something else which will eventually wear a hole in it or it will just fall off...not a good prospect. Since I can only imagine what the bill would come to if I took it to a specialist or dealer, I am hoping to find a less expensive solution.

That, however, is not the financial planning I was referring to...that is a mere blimp in the overall scheme of things.

Kay, you have had enough blimps in the road...it is time for the road to be smooth and without obstacles, blimps, popholes, ice, or anything else that gets in the way of a smooth ride. I hope the financial planning you have ahead of you relieves some of the financial stresses you have had to deal with.

I just learned my son has had one of his worst weeks ever. All three of their vehicles there quit running this week, he has one that needs a new engine (he has one, just needs time to put it in), one quits running, he doesn't know why yet, and another I don't remember what's wrong. Then he has a truck at my house that conked out at Christmas that he needs to get running and sell. And he discovered he has water leaking from his hot water tank into his flooring, it got mold in it, so the carpet needs replaced, everything cleaned and dried out, it did damage to furniture and three rifles, and it started with an infestation of mice so it now smells in there but he has traps set and the hot water tank and storage unit for it fixed. And he's working on three projects with teams and all three appointed him project manager, and he's coming up on finals this week. He had one professor assign them to NOT use technology for 48 hours to show how addicted they all are, which didn't help his other school assignments or communication with his "teams" any. Poor kid! I have nothing to worry about in comparison to him. I'm glad he's one of those people who seems to take things in stride, remains even keeled and calm...but still, we do all have our breaking points...

Kay, I am so sorry your son has so much going on. I hope you and he can see an end to all this. It is interesting that a professor would tell his students to not use the computer without consulting other professors who simultaneously assign things that demand computer use...not surprised but it does make it tricky for the student.

Sleep well. It is midnight here so I should consider bed soon. I tend to put bed off...it is just so lonely so I dawdle around, fall sleep in the chair and eventually find my way to bed.

Peace

Mary

Nothing surprises me about professors, a lot of them seem to think theirs is the only class!

I slept well last night, it felt so good!

I am so glad that you had a good sleep last night, Kay. There is a saying that when it rains it pours - I certainly hope that the rain stops pouring on you and your family! I am thinking of you and praying that the decisions you have to make about your 'financial decisions' are only going to be good ones for you.

We have a beautiful, sunny day here in AZ. So what else is new!

I sure hope you are catching up on rest and solitude, Mary. I know how you don't like crowds. Or, a lot of chatter! Anne

Anne, I enjoy conversations with people but not small talk...boring. I just got home, see post on Positives. NOW I will rest :)
