What a healing and at the same time beckoning arrangement of words from a good wordsmith. I admire that level of talent. Thank you for sharing this here, for bringing these words and this affirmation into our circle. Namaste, *<twinkles>* fae

It's powerful piece of writing on grief I ever read. I'm going to write it out long hand in my journal. I will cry while I do it. Tears are pricking my eyes now as I remember things in it. It truly speaks to me in a way other writings just don't. Thanks Arlene for putting it here, and Marty! can you save it in your library because I'm sure others who haven't come to our forum yet will need it. I like the way it avoids teli g is we will soon feel better. We will get over it. I for one DONT WANT TO GET OVER IT! I'm 72 and I had 50 wonderful years with Pete and I want them to still be inside me until I join him.

mfh
This is a post from Facebook by the author of the 5 Lies About Grief piece: Alison Nappi Author shared a link. Everyone is wounded. It's not just you. We live in a fast-paced culture of superficiality in the West, and we are taught from a very young age that our emotions- the life blood of our human experiences- must be contained, repressed or ignored. The results of this have had devastating effects on our spirits, lives and bodies. Living in a culture where we are shamed if we dare to feel deeply, if we run with our feelings, if we trust them to show us the way, has come with a price too high to pay. The Write to Heal program is about honoring all the emotions we have previously boxed away, hid in dungeons deep in the shadowy terrain of our inner lives where no one can see them. By doing this we have convinced ourselves that the very soul of the human experience is monstrous, and in this program we will unearth the truth: these feelings are messages about who we truly are, not who we're told to be.The emotions we refuse to feel are effecting our lives, our relationships, our fulfillment every day; there is no escaping them- not really. And why should there be? Every time we disown ourselves, we diminish what we really are, and commit it to the underworld, and then we wonder why we aren't able to live the lives of ecstatic creation and fulfillment we so deeply desire. Dive deep. Find words. Write them down. Heal.- See more at: http://writewithspirit.com/write_to_heal/#sthash.irdFVY5U.dpuf
LarrysGirl
While reading this blog I felt as if it was me speaking. I've always apologized here and with others because I thought what I said was too raw or severe. I've never felt like was I grieving like you are "supposed" to grieve. People in my life have been uncomfortable with my grief from the day Larry died. They still are and as I have grown weary, I began to doubt myself and my grief. I do know that by holding onto the pain, it has taken a toll on my health but I haven't known any other way to cope. I'm thankful this article was posted. Wifflesnook
It 4.20 here and I can't sleep. Fretting about plans for Xmas, beds, meals, presents. But in the States I suppose it's evening. Obviously this piece of writing has gone straight to our hearts and souls.
