Harleyquinn
like a lot of people, I have been delving into reading about life (or consciousness) after death. I ran across this article, http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/features/this-is-what-its-like-to-be-dead-according-to-a-guy-who-died-for-a-bit-10068959.htmlwhere a man who died for two minutes claimed there is no life after death bc he felt like it was just like a black dreamless nap. My thoughts are, if he even recalled blackness, or a dreamless nap- does that not indicate consciousness of some kind? he specifically said, it was not just like a gap in time- which to me would indicate true "nothingness" after death. anyway, i'm interested in hearing from those who may have spent more time reading on this than I have.... thoughts about consciousness after death, reincarnation etc.. I know it's just speculation for most of us who have not experienced a NDE, but reading about this for now does bring me some comfort. debi.williams
Harleyquinn, I cannot comment on NDE because I have never had one, but Kayc who is a member of this forum has written about her experiences. I would however say - and please believe me this is NOT wishful thinking - that I have had contact from those who have passed so life in some form must exist after death. The biggest experience I had was with my very pragmatic, science loving teenage son and everything we saw actually happened. I can only agree that if you are aware of a black dreamless nap then you are AWARE. It is possible he didn't cross over because it wasn't his time to do so and therefore he didn't have any tangible experience. Einstein said 'Energy cannot be created or destroyed only transformed' this is the popular law of physics. After what my son and I witnessed I can only agree. kayc
I think you hit the nail on the head when you said "My thoughts are, if he even recalled blackness, or a dreamless nap- does that no indicate consciousness of some kind?"I have experienced it, more than once. A lady at our church shared her account Sunday. It's not that uncommon and most accounts are similar. If we no longer existed after death, if it was final, he wouldn't remember anything! debi.williams
The article was remarkable Harleyquinn. thanks so much for posting it. Particularly amazing that her uncle led her back into her body and how she described it as plunging into ice when that is exactly what the doctors were doing to preserve her brain. After reading this, how can anyone question it?
