Report Lost My Life in Loss of a Spouse, Partner, or Significant Other Posted November 5, 2015 Dear Martin, I, too, lost my husband last month. It was instant and we have been in a shocked state every since. Our 4 childrenof 54 years of marriage, were in the car as he had the fatal heart attack. We'd just come from thehouse of my brother who had just shot himself in the head. Talk about shock!! ANd, there is no way around this,no way under or over, we just have to go through it. Praying and reading my Bible helped, but initially, we have towalk this dark valley all by ourselves. I pray you will process your grief as only you must. I cry all the time and angrily kick the door in spent frustration. "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." My darlin is in heaven but itfeels like hell right now for me and mine. Will we ever be "contented" once again? I've heard it takes a year untilthe grief lessens it's awful grip on our hearts. God bless you in your grief.Janet
