MartyT
The following comes to us from Susan Levine, Executive Director of Hospice of the Valley: Hospice of the Valley's mission draws exceptional people to our staff. Several will be honored for their work in March. Here's a little bit about them ... Jonathon Etou, LPN, wins national award Coronado Home nurse Jonathon Etou will be recognized as the Certified Hospice and Palliative Licensed Practical Nurse of the Year. He will receive the prestigious award from the National Board of Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurses at the board's national meeting March 8. Colleagues describe Etou as empathetic, knowledgeable and gentle. They say he provides "extraordinary'' care, showing a unique ability to connect with patients and family. Dementia team hits international stage Maribeth Gallagher, director of Hospice of the Valley's dementia program, and her team are a finalist in the "non-cancer" category for the International Journal of Palliative Nursing Awards to be presented March 29 in London. We've always known they were superstars - in fact, Maribeth was a professional singer before she came to us. To learn more, click here. Bath ponchos sought for patients We need donations of large bath sheets or beach towels. Community volunteers will transform them into "bath ponchos" used by our nurse's aides to provide patients with privacy and a more dignified bathing experience. Please drop off new sheets or beach towels at any of our Clinical Offices listed on our Locations page. Golf, anyone? CIGNA Pro-Am set for April 5 Join us April 5 at Hospice of the Valley's CIGNA Pro-Am at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale. Proceeds benefit our patients and families. For details, click here. Enjoy the beautiful spring weather! And thanks again for your support.
