Thanks for asking. Not much new. Maury likes to cuddle in the afternoon but in the evening he is irritable.
He is very well behaved, maybe too much.. Your black cat looks like my Nellie who passed after sudden awful sickness. I wanted another black cat but got an orange one.

I am still chuckling over the idea of moving into a teepee. It's something Homer Simpson would do. Sometimes a great boyfriend does not make a good husband and a great girlfriend is not a good wife. But we fall in love for the wrong reasons sometimes. I have a way of falling for women who are already taken so it leads to frustration and heartache. I have thought much about love and wrote a poem about it. The friends I know are dominated by their wives, though they won't admit it--so obvious their wives dictate what part of the house they use, or where they can go and with whom. I am glad I don't have that! I'm a free agent.
The weather is gloomy here a lot and it dampens my spirits. I read that one of the most common questions at the grand canyon is "who dug this?" LOL
Odd that you named your cat Lena since Lena Horne had such light skin--I thought she was white.
Is your photo recent? I am too private to put one up, not even on facebook.

I agree that animals love us unconditionally, but we cannot know the depth or complexity of that love--assuming love means food, shelter, companionship,play, affection. But often we don't know about our human loves either. How much does he love me? My mother spoke of love often, my father never.He would not use the word. It would be very gratifying to me to have a love (not unrequited) besides feline. My cats who lived the longest (19, 16) were the LOML. I feel ignimonious about that. At least we were mutual. I still feel it sounds a bit pathetic, especially to people with long good relationships.I don't tell my friends.
Yeah, a great cat is better than a misfit human rel'ship. I once wrote a list why a cat is better than a woman because I read one why a cat is better than a man. Was your husband an Indian? In a teepee? Makes no sense....good that you left him. I would appreciate a nice level headed woman, but I am not seeking this any longer.. I know many bitter women are out there...I read their stories in other forums and online dating sites. Men are not usually so open.
Has been very cloudy here near Chicago and I wish I was in Arizona or Colorado.

How old is this woman? Wow, does her husband know this? It seems sad for their marriage. You know, very very few people would understand that the love of one's life(LOML) is a cat (or a dog) and some would LOL at this, or be aghast. Maylissa on this forum gets it. I have chatted with her. I understand totally because I feel that way and I am older than you, so in a way, that is even more unusual or strange. I am single, never married by the way and have dated numerous females. I would not tell anyone to advertise this.
Do you think it sounds a little pathetic? Like the best you can do is a cat--or dog?

Well, your new name is not revealing in any way. I have not heard of that flower.
One of my favorites is Alysum because I like the scent, but it does not survive
well on my balcony. with weak sunlight and cloudy days.Most flowers don't.
Maury is all right. He likes one toy I got him anyway. He is not the video cam type, He hits me when he does not want to be touched. Then runs away. I should not say this, but some of my best bonded relationships have been with cats. Who will admit that?
I will stick with the group. I am on very few forums. Some of the posts are too sad.

what a alias name? Are you that alone and lost? Sometimes I feel the same way. Alone but not lost. My Nellie,
was a very very rambunctious cat, always curious, jumping on counter tops constantly, for no reason...loads of energy, looking into every corner. That's why I miss him. Plus he had a funny meow. When I got Maury,who was named Morgan then, it was supposed to be temporary, as I paid nothing to the shelter. They gave me a very limited choice of cats...the ones they wanted to let go of. Poor Maury does not like catnip and only likes the feather toy I bought him. He loves sleeping. What a boring life.
I don't know whether color of cat changes personality. You could check with the Cornell Feline Health Center in Ithaca NY. They have all the answers and do latest research on cats.
P.S. I have been to Sedona many years ago.
