There's some things that's beyond us to understand how/why it could have happened and even more so how those responsible can get away with it. Yesterday my pastor preached on justice, it was really good. There's an innate part of us that wants, demands, justice. When that isn't satisfied, it's hard for us to take. Have you talked with the police or DA? Presented what you know? This can lead to complicated grief in which I'd recommend getting some grief counseling to help you deal with it. You can't control what happened, that's for sure, but it can help you in dealing with it going forward. We always love our moms and no amount of time changes that.
