Old Favorite Spots

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I am posting this because I find it very hard to go to places that I used to go with my parents before they died... Like a favorite place to eat, returning to the town your parents live in, a favorite vacation spot... Has anyone else had problems with this??? Shelley

I know you love old songs, too, and you may like this one. It's an old World War II song, and it always makes me think of my own beloved parents:

I'll be Seeing You

I'll be seeing you

In all the old familiar places

That this heart of mine embraces

All day through:

In the small cafe, the park across the way,

The children's carousel, the chestnut tree

The wishing well.

I'll be seeing you

In every lovely summer's day,

In everything that's light and gay.

I'll always think of you that way.

I'll find you in the morning sun,

And when the night is new,

I'll be looking at the moon --

but I'll be seeing you.

Hi Marty,

Thank you so much for your reply and posting the information you did.. I will definitely check them out... The song was so beautiful and yes I remember my parents listening to it several times... I went on you tube and wrote the song name on the find line and it came up twice with two different singers and I listen to it... Take care Shelley

Hi All,

As I discussed about going to your loved ones favorite spot I say it is so very hard to return... I discovered this last weekend as I returned to one of my mom's favorite spots in this world which was Las Vegas... I had a very difficult time there and trying not to be upset when people asked I said firmly that I was okay even when I was fighting the many sets of tears in my eyes.... Take care Shelley
