Piper grant to fund hospice education for medical students Hospice of the Valley has been awarded a $217,000 grant by Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust to teach Phoenix medical students about hospice and palliative care. "Hospice of the Valley has done a remarkable job expanding end-of-life care training to medical residents, nurses, chaplains, social workers and hospitalists," said Judy Jolley Mohraz, president and CEO of Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust. "Now medical students will also learn how to talk with patients and families about hard but critical end-of-life issues."
