Teen volunteer wins governor's award Nhi Van, a junior at Maryvale High School who volunteers for Hospice of the Valley, received the Youth Award at the Governor's Volunteer Service Award luncheon April 20. She is part of our Teens in Nursing program and aspires to become a physician. Read more. Alpha Kappa Psi gives more than $22,000 Alpha Kappa Psi, a business fraternity at Arizona State University, has raised more than $22,000 for Hospice of the Valley patients and families through the Helping Hand Run held annually since 2009. Grants fund patient needs, improve facilities Hospice of the Valley has been awarded a $32,000 grant from the state of Arizona to make one of our inpatient hospice homes more energy-efficient. Details. US Airways has contributed a total of $14,000 in travel gift cards to help families with limited financial resources come together. Details. Fiesta Bowl Charities has granted $10,000 to enhance pediatric services for children with life-limiting illnesses and their families. Details .
