LOSS

Loss is a hollow word

charged with human tears

It’s a traveler on the road of life

befriended by no man

avoided for its fears

Of emptiness and silence

ache and permanence.

Loss finds each and every one of us

alone and crying out.

It is the Teacher in this life

that seeks not understanding.

It wends its way along our paths

its plan is yet unfolding.

But when we stop and touch Its hand

we find it warm and caring.

Loss offers each of us not void or ache

but loving, growing, laughing…

Loss is a hollow word

when charged with human tears

But Healer to the man who seeks

to rid himself of fears.
