FDA Alert: Pet Food From PETCO

This comes via e-mail from a friend concerning a June 19, 2008, news release by the FDA:

"FDA Requests Seizure of Animal Food Products at PETCO Distribution Center ...The distribution center in Joliet, Ill., provides pet food products and supplies to PETCO retail stores in 16 states including Alabama, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin."

Oh yuck! On the one hand I wonder when we will get away from this, but when you read the press release it clearly states this has to do with the way the food was being stored in their facility, as well as the vermin in the facility, it makes me gag!
