Spouses Personal Keepsakes

If it's how you feel, you have your reasons and no it's not in your head. Stick to your guns. Intuitively, you'll know what is best for you and right now it's YOU you need to consider first and foremost.

Elly, I totally agree with Mary and the others that the "keepsake " issue is closed. As far as the ashes go....I have Mike's ashes in a red rock urn from Arizona, and his ashes will be mixed with mine and buried someday. I do keep some separate, and when traveling to new places take a little baggie of his ashes to scatter, that way he travels when I travel. I would just sweetly tell her that you have not made any decisions yet regarding his ashes, and you will be happy to let her know when you do.
