WaltC
I just listenend to a recent release by Diamond Rio called God Only Cries It relates how our loved one's are now free from pain and it's those of us still living that need the tears. Here's an attempt at the lyrics:God Only Cries - Diamond RioOn an icy road one night,A young man loses his life. They marked the shoulder with a cross. And his family gathers round,On a piece of Hallowed ground.Their hearts are heavy with their loss.As the tears fall from their eyesThere's one who'll always sympathize God only cries for the living.'Cause it's the living that are left to carry on.And all the angels up in Heaven,They're not grieving because they're gone. There's a smile on their faces'Cause they're in a better place thereMmm, baby, they know, ohGod only cries for the living'Cause it's the living that are so far from homeIt still makes me sadWhen I think of my Granddad.I miss him each and every day.But I know the time will comeWhen my own grandsonWonders why I went away.Maybe we're not meant to understand'Til we meet up in the Promised Land. God only cries for the living.'Cause it's the living that are left to carry on.And all the angels up in HeavenThey're not grieving because they're gone. There's a smile on their faces'Cause they're in a better place thereOh, baby, they know, ohGod only cries for the living'Cause it's the living that are so far from homeYeah, we're so far from homeMmmmm, mmmm I can't find a good link to the music yet, but I find the words to be comforting. Bebekat
Another new favorite of mine! I listened to Country music only a little before Tom died. He was always trying to get me to listen to more of it. For some reason, now I find myself listening more often. Just another of those strange coincidences? dpodesta
WaltFirst of all great to see you post again!! Have missed seeing you. I have heard that song several times since Karen died and it brings tears to my eyes when I hear it. There is another song that hits me between the eyes, I believe the title is something like I will love you like there is no tomorrow or something like that. I never heard the begining of the song until after Karen died and the first few lines talk about the singer leaving a friends house after the service and that his love was taken to soon and it got him to thinking that it could have been him losing her. The first time I heard those words and I thought, that is me. I found out that we aren't guaruteed tomorrow and that is so real to me these days. Anyway, great to see your getting around Walt. kayc
Derek, I, too, have heard that song, "I will love you like there is no tomorrow" and it brought comfort to me for if anyone else learns something from our tragedies, well, at least that is something good.
