The New Me....

Recommended Posts

I wish you understood that grief changes people. I am not

the same person I was before my beloved died and I will never be

that person again. If you keep waiting for me to "get back to my

old self" you will stay frustrated. I am a new creature with new

thoughts, dreams, aspirations, values and beliefs. Please try to

get to know this different me -- I'm the one who'll be here from

now on.

Tracey, wonderfully said! Thank you so much. It is just so true, that we are not the same as we were. Others who have not been yet bereaved do not understand that the person we once were is no longer. As if our journey is not hard enough already and then to have others wanting the old us back.

Thank you so much for your post.

Blessings and Courage, Carol Ann

Tracy,

You are so correct that's why I really understand the quote I have in my sig...

"You think your life has changed, but life has changed you".....unless someone goes thru it they have not a clue that part of us left as well when our loved ones departed....but what's positive is we have accepted we have changed and are discovering the new us, I still grieve but it is becoming a differant type...stay positive and enjoy the new you...

Thank you Tracy, truer words were never spoken. It comforts me to know that I do believe I don't have to get back to my old self, and I'm allowing myself to dream just a little already. Don and I had a wonderful 40 years together, and I'm grateful to him for giving me such love and happiness, and I will go forward with my life with happiness again.

Tracy, what you said is so true. It is like you read my mind!

Everyone has their advice and their opinions and it can get so overwhelming.

Thanks so much for sharing!
