Black Cadillac, By Rosanne Cash

Recommended Posts

Hi All

I have just gotten Rosanne Cash new CD title Black Cadillac, she wrote the songs and did this whole CD about losing both her parents within 6 mos. I really like the CD, Black Cadillac is a great sone, I really love this one..

I Was Watching You written by Rosanne Cash

Headlights on a Texas road. Hank Williams on the radio a church wedding, they spent all they had, now the deal is done to become mom and dad.

And I was watching you, from above long before there was love.

See those little girls dressed like china dolls all for one, then one by one they fall high on a hill where the world passes by, you never came back but I know you tried.

Cause I was watching you from above when it all falls apart there is love.

All these years to prove how much I care. I didn't know it, but you were always there until September, when you slipped away in the middle of of my life on the longest day now I hear you say.......

I'll be watching you, from above cause long after life, there is love. Baby, I'll be watching you from above, long after life there is love.

How about Brad Paisley's new song:

Brad Paisley - When I Get Where I'm Going

(Feat. Dolly Parton)

When I get where I'm going

On the far side of the sky

The first thing that I'm gonna do

Is spread my wings and fly

I'm gonna land beside a lion

And run my fingers through his mane

Or I might find out what it's like

To ride a drop of rain

(Chorus:)

Yeah when I get where I'm going

There'll be only happy tears

I will shed the sins and struggles

I have carried all these years

And I'll leave my heart wide open

I will love and have no fear

Yeah when I get where I'm going

Don't cry for me down here

I'm gonna walk with my grand daddy

And he'll match me step for step

And I'll tell him how I missed him

Every minute since he left

Then I'll hug his neck

(Chorus:)

Yeah when I get where I'm going

There'll be only happy tears

I will shed the sins and struggles

I have carried all these years

And I'll leave my heart wide open

I will love and have no fear

Yeah when I get where I'm going

Don't cry for me down here

So much pain and so much darkness

In this world we stumble through

All these questions I can't answer

So much work to do

But when I get where I'm going

And I see my maker's face

I'll stand forever in the light

Of his amazing grace

Yeah when I get where I'm going

There'll be only happy tears

Hallelujah

I will love and have no fear

When I get where I'm going

Yeah when I get where I'm going

There is another song I think it is called "I Believe" I don't know who sings it. however it talkes about a boy who befriends an old man and he askes him how do you keep from going crazy? The old man tells him that he will see them soon, and talks about praying and the bible. I loved the song before Karen passed away, but a week after she passed and I was having a bad day I heard this song and was comfoted remembering that one day I will get to see her again. Until then I will live life to the fullest until I can see her again and hug her and hold her.

God Bless

Derek

Sung by Kenny Chesney:

"Who You'd Be Today"

Sunny days seem to hurt the most.

I wear the pain like a heavy coat.

I feel you everywhere I go.

I see your smile, I see your face,

I hear you laughin' in the rain.

I still can't believe you're gone.

It ain't fair: you died too young,

Like the story that had just begun,

But death tore the pages all away.

God knows how I miss you,

All the hell that I've been through,

Just knowin' no-one could take your place.

An' sometimes I wonder,

Who'd you be today?

Would you see the world? Would you chase your dreams?

Settle down with a family,

I wonder what would you name your babies?

Some days the sky's so blue,

I feel like I can talk to you,

An' I know it might sound crazy.

It ain't fair: you died too young,

Like the story that had just begun,

But death tore the pages all away.

God knows how I miss you,

All the hell that I've been through,

Just knowin' no-one could take your place.

An' sometimes I wonder,

Who you'd be today?

Today, today, today.

Today, today, today.

[instrumental Break]

Sunny days seem to hurt the most.

I wear the pain like a heavy coat.

The only thing that gives me hope,

Is I know I'll see you again some day.

Some day, some day, some day.
