Recommended Posts

MY MOM PASSED ON MAY 24, 09. IT BEEN A LITTLE OVER 1 MONTH AND I STILL CAN'T BELEIVE SHE GONE. MOM AND I WOULD READ THIS WHEN WE WOULD GO IS MY DAD. IT HELPS ME WHEN I'M SAD AND DOWN AND MISSING MY BELOVED MOTHER.

Immortality

Do not stand by my grave and weep…..

I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand wind that blow.

I am a diamond glint on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awake in the morning hush

I am the swift uplifting rush

of quiet birds in circle flight.

I am the soft star shine at night.

Do not stand by my grave and cry…..

I am not there I did not die.

I live with the risen Lord.

Dear Ones,

The author of this beautiful poem is Mary Elizabeth Frye, and this is her original version:

Do not stand at my grave and weep,

I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am in a thousand winds that blow,

I am the softly falling snow.

I am the gentle showers of rain,

I am the fields of ripening grain.

I am in the morning hush,

I am in the graceful rush

Of beautiful birds in circling flight,

I am the starshine of the night.

I am in the flowers that bloom,

I am in a quiet room.

I am in the birds that sing,

I am in each lovely thing.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,

I am not there. I do not die.

And i love this one:

Over mountains, over trees

Over oceans, over seas

Across the deserts

I'll be there

In a whisper on the wind

On the smile of a new friend

Just think of me

And I'll be there

CHORUS: Don't be afraid, oh my love

I'll be watching you from above

And I'd give all the world tonight to be with you

'Cause I'm on your side, and I still care

I may have died, but I've gone nowhere Just think of me, and I'll be there

On the edge of a waking dream

Over rivers, over streams

Through wind and rain

I'll be there

Across the wide and open sky

Thousands of miles I'd fly

To be with you

I'll be there

CHORUS

In the breath of a wind that sighs

Oh, there's no need to cry

Just think of me,

And I'll be there
