Weather giving us a break for a few days and then the heat returns...Fire Fighters making good progress.....Some Native settlements returned to devastation.........I'm cutting grass today and we are squeezing in some Golf, then picking up kid from school, and hopefully taking Wife out for Birthday dinner......

Got about an inch of rain and spots of Hail!!......Allowed majority of evacuees back to their homes today....The Forests and Grasslands still dry.....but the high temps gone for at least a week or so, now to get back to normal...Stay safe, can't understand all the shootings, hearts out there Marg...

Bought carry Pet Kennel for a Cat yesterday in case I have to leave ...Shortage of this now...My go back will consist of important documents , one change of cloths, shaving kit, animal food, etc.....state of emergency declared for province last night..., Temperatures cooling a bit with some moisture...highs around 75 and lows about 50....

Should not have mentioned Fire conditions....Got first alerts and a mandatory evacuation of a Hamlet about 75-100 miles from me......Way too early for this...Our temperatures above average for next few days...Still working on yard clean up and my garage project(hot tub)....Took Judi's Granddaughter golfing twice on the week end...7 year old kid and she's a Natural, can't believe the talent....Picking up transmission fluid for Stepdaughter and dropping golf Kid off at school....Have a good week.......Hope your still on the mend KayC
  5. We had below average snowfall which means not much run off from the melt but the Farmers will suffer....Its dry up here, I'm concerned about the Fire Hazard this early in the year...Need some April showers all through May...Only Crime up here is Drug related......a shame
  6. lows of 32 and highs in the 70's......Already got two rounds of Golf in, Life is good again...Gave the Dog much needed bath this morning.....emptied out a storage locker, something I won't pay rent on anymore. Issue now is what to do with about 30 storage containers........Adding storage shelves in Garage to make room for my indoor "temporary hot tub"...My senior Cat has lost a step, has difficulty jumping up to his dish or the top bunk bed( 9 years old)........he still doesn't get along with the new kitten.....Everyone have a good day
  7. Planting some Tulip Bulbs that already sprouting(cheating), bought at Walmart....Watched Youtube, pretty straight forward...they'll be in Pots.....My other go to flowers are marigolds, Petunias, Zinias, and Sunflowers(planting seeds inside) tomorrow.......
  8. Finally over this Easter weekend....screwed up my Carb balance for sure, gave away half the leftovers.......will get back to normal tomorrow....Got a touch of snow last night ....longest Winter(not coldest), just long(Nov 1 and still snow).....Have a good rest of the week...

Animals definitely sense(smell?) sickness...Germany they had some dogs actually sniffing people for Covid.....I've heard of Cancer detection in some "medical" dogs.....My new kitten(9 months old and small), gets along with the Puppy like best friends, but the resident 9 year old Cat does not like the new comer at all.......I believe things are getting better but don't leave them alone for to long.........Makes life interesting....

I was somewhat upset about the Hospital taking a total of (3) visits to get it right....Giving popsicles should tip them off its a throat issue.....The instant test and local pharma dispensing antibiotics big step in the right direction...The grand daughter saga continued over the weekend, may be back with Dad.....Finally above freezing starting tomorrow, still freezes at night, almost Spring like.....

Two steps forward, going backwards yesterday for sure...Drug troubled step-Granddaughter left her Fathers place and is back with drug dealer boyfriend.....She was 9 days clean but she perceived family was unkind to her....My concern is this whole cycle will restart or it has ...The rehab is on hold....Bright spot is The Grandmother has got full custody of the Granddaughter( Court Date was Yesterday).........Found out a Pharmacist can prescribe antibiotics in Alberta(since 2004), spent two visits to the hospital, asked for a Strep test second visit( each visit is 5 hours), two days later they phoned in prescription.....Truth today ,there is a instant test for Strep B....lots of needless suffering...
  13. Day 4. , Daughter and Law(Mother) and myself put in three hours and were ready for the movers...Job was done and completed bt 3 pm......I'm having a few beers now....Father very appreciative as is Megean (the daughter)
  14. It is so cold this morning Minus 36.....Out to warm up vehicle(plug in), unload vehicle and get moving once I get day light and minor supplies.....Cats ate something last night and used litter box(good sign).....Judi's Granddaughter on 6th day of detox...

Day 1 of of four complete..The two Cats are now in my office together, I'm taking one to a Lady tomorrow and think we may keep the second one...We will pack, bag, and box the apartment tomorrow' Sunday, and Monday......It's only a one bedroom apartment but it's just so full....Feel sorry for the kid to get herself jammed up like this...

Good news is I'm going to assist in a Cat(s) rescue today....Wife's Granddaughter is seeking treatment and needs someone to move her contents....We are making the arrangements which includes the Cats....Temperature is minus 20F. Trick is getting access, then catching the Cats, and then finding a new owner(s)...... Arranged movers and a storage unit yesterday..
  17. Peanut Butter is one of my basics, I backed off a lot but a spoonful twice daily is my compromise......I let the dog lick the spoon.....On the serious note, calling a few shelters today to check up on my Daughter, sad issue...

Weather getting cold again up here< starting Feb 22-28(minus 10-15), and that should be it...The Flu is really disrupting things, two grand kids had it bad, Judi really had it bad for 14 days now, I got off easy .....This being cooped in doesn't help......Bought a portable inflatable Hot tub yesterday, it going in my garage for now....Arrives next week ,after the severe cold ends.....Good news, adding another two holes in my belt, slowly getting smaller...

Well I thank Kay and George for their sharing the Keto low Carb benefits.....The more I learn about the Keto and intermittent fasting benefits, the more positive lifestyle I am rewarded with....Finally warming up here, doing some painting inside Garage today...Hopefully taking Wife out for early Valentines Dinner this evening....We've been babysitting sick grand daughter last two days(today will be #3), night out is well deserved, my patience is not what it used to be...I'm officially Grumpy.....

Keto and the intermittent fasting is a key to brain health....Did the Birthday party thing last night with Judi's Great granddaughter...Quite the show, Someone dressed up like Mouse and kids all singing and having great time....Sad side her Mother called us at 3:30 AM from a waiting room looking for money....it was so sad, doesn't remember its her Daughters birthday but remembered our number(used someone elses phone)....told her to call back during daytime hours....Called back two more times within the hour....Quiet now
  21. I've spent 40 years in the North and have never had more than -60 wind chill.....This -110 wind chill is almost unbelievable ...that is Crazy.....

Good morning, had a Medical dominated week....Top news Second EKO Cardiogram on my heart showed no problem, Personal yearly check up was OK(lost 12 lbs), did a Bone scan, and was at clinic for an hour for Blood work.....Our bad weather is over for about 7-10 days.....Babysitting grandkid today, its her 7th birthday tomorrow...Her Grand mother has quite the party planned .........Watching east coast Temps today, tad chilly..
  24. Temperatures in Edmonton are above Freezing Thursday afternoon for the first time since Nov. 27. That means the city went 52 days without getting above Freezing zero and that streak ties 1978 for the third-longest on record. Only 1956 (83 days) and 1950 (67 days) had longer stretches of sub-freezing daytime highs.4 days ago.....but alas in 4 days we slip back down again..waiting for Groundhog.....Taking down Christmas stuff this week...
