Two Years Tomorrow

Recommended Posts

It's two years tomorrow since you've been gone

Yes, two years tomorrow and I'm still alone.

Where has the time gone? Mostly to tears,

As I've cried my heart out in only two years.

It's two years tomorrow..I wish you could be

Right here in my arms, without pain or disease.

Your smile I long for, the touch of your arms,

Holding your laughter, missing your charms.

It's two years tomorrow, I've squandered the days

Absorbing your memory, your voice and your ways.

I've slept on your pillow and wrapped in your coat,

Wanting not to let go for the lump in my throat.

It's two years tomorrow, how could it be so

That so many days could be lost in a row?

The snow covered grass and the grass greened again…

In the blink of a second, in the drop of the rain.

Just two years tomorrow your spirit set free,

And I settle in silence trying to see,

A life without sadness and sorrow and woe,

The two years tomorrow I wish wasn't so.

I long for the days we were together as one,

Laughing and dreaming, our new life begun.

In the blink of a second, in the drop of the rain,

Two years is a lifetime to need you again.

My work is not over, I'm still hanging on

Though tears stain the pages and muffle my song.

It's two years tomorrow since you were here

And eagles remind me of the love I hold dear.

Kath,

That was beautiful and a wonderful tribute for Wendy and Steve...

Wendy,

My prayers are with you today...I know the answer lies not in ignoring but in remembering, for those of us that are left here, we never forget.

I love you,

Kay

Kath - - That poem is just beautiful. It really touched my heart and made me cry.

To every one reaching an anniversary of any kind that is a day of remembrance, you are all in my prayers. Thank you so much for being there.
