A friend posted this today on Facebook:

"140 years ago today, Gustav Theodore Holst composer of my all-time favorite orchestral work, "The Planets," entered the world. Let's ease into this Sunday morning with the final movement, Neptune, The Mystic. (And if you've never heard the whole thing, do yourself a favor and listen to it today)."

It is Gustav Holst's The Planets...one of our favorites.

Anne, this is to thank you for all the wonderful music you post.

Thank you, Mary. You know how much I love music ~ tears.

And Marty, I like Westlife and really liked the video you posted "Someday I'll see you again"~ music just lifts my spirit.

Thanks Mary. I saw this when you posted it on FB. I listened to it. We loved The Planet Suite. It's the autumn equinox and I shall light a candle tonight and choose some music and just sit quietly with a glass of wine. And then at nine pm as distraction from sadness I will watch Downton (not to rub it in the we have it first lol!)

You are welcome, Jan. So the goal is finding a way for we across the pond to horn in on Downton Abbey somehow.

Enjoy!

I noticed on Amazon that one can not even buy it in USA until January. But, if we shop at the UK site it is for sale on Nov. 17. Hmmmmmm!

Anne, I will never understand why my ophthalmologist insists that I use artificial tears four times a day...I guess I used my own tears up in these past years and it is songs like this that have contributed to my dry eyes. This is one of my favorites sung by my favorites. Thank you for this treasure....one that always brings tears to my eyes proving I still have a lot of my own. Mary

This is for anyone needing a little quiet in their life right now ~ watching full screen is better.

I pray you'll be our eyes
And watch us where we go
And help us to be wise
In times when we don't know

Let this be our prayer
As we go our way
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your Grace
To a place where we'll be safe

La luce che tu dai
I pray we'll find your light
Nel cuore rester
And hold it in our hearts
A ricordarci che
When stars go out each night
L'eterna stella sei

Nella mia preghiera
Let this be our prayer
Quanta fede c'e
When shadows fill our day
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith, so we'll be safe

Sognamo un mondo senza piu violenza
Un mondo di giustizia e di speranza
Ognuno dia la mano al suo vicino
Simbolo di pace, di fraternita

La forza che ci dai
We ask that life be kind
E' il desiderio che
And watch us from above
Ognuno trovi amore
We hope each soul will find
Intorno e dentro se
Another soul to love

Let this be our prayer
(Let this be our prayer)
Just like every child
(Just like every child)
Needs to find a place
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith, so we'll be safe

E la fede che
Hai acceso in noi
Sento che ci salvera

Dear Anne,

Thank for that song. I remember, and while it brings tears, it also reminds me of our dreams, our life, and our love, and I am so thankful I have these beautiful memories.

namaste,

fae

There are times when only music soothes my aching heart. Tonight music fills my home. On the wings of a butterfly...
