My Sanity Needed Vents

Recommended Posts

Me too, Kevin, it's a struggle...I went from Windows 7 to Windows 10 (PC quit so went to laptop) and then upgraded (if you can call it that) to Windows 11...what a challenge it's been!  They said we'd have to within 1 1/2 years so I took the plunge.  Not an improvement, either of them.

My Daughter who is 41 this year,  is in the "Drug" world......my only positive is she lives South and less harsher climate...I've accepted a bad outcome, but she is still in my will....I do have hope...

Same age as my daughter.  My heart goes out to you.  Never give up, as long as there's breath...

Went to my son's 40th bdy yesterday and we also celebrated my grandson's 7th from two weeks before, here is the cake my son made him...it's Batman but we dubbed it Fatman.  One in London like this sold for $1172.00!  And one of the men together. :)

Kay, your son is so talented. Truly a "jack of all trades". Hard to believe your grandson is 7 already!

Thank you!  I can't believe how much my son looks like me and my grandson looks like him!

They came and finished the well, made a HUGE muddy mess!  Worse than last time!  I have no more gravel to put over the mud, and my M/C is tied up with paying them so will have to wait for rock to put over it.  No one to rake it anyway, getting old sucks.

My neighbor of 40 year died Sunday, found out yesterday.  I worked with his wife 19 years ago, my heart goes out to her.  She has kids around, that helps.

I thing the #1 ingredient is sugar and what's ironic is my son has been on Keto over five years...his wife and children are not so he has his own refrigerator in the garage.  He doesn't even lick his fingers.  Not diabetic and likely never will be as long as he's doing Keto.  Both sides of family.

This will be a tough "Diet Week end" but I will limit myself on the Dressing /Potatoes .....Love cranberries also...I buy chocolate for others....Weather has broken finally, so my Dog walks( mile and a bit) can restart....My step daughter had a blood sugar reading 4X  higher than safe (30).....never heard of anything that extreme, I strongly suggested Keto or at least no carbs....

I've been doing it 4 1/4 years and am never going back to my old way of eating!  Love it!  A lot of people think it's just steak, bacon and salad, not true, I have hundreds of recipes!

May be an image of 1 person and text that says 'Answer me when I call to you, Ο my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer. Psalm 4:1'

I feel like He has! I got an email from a company I do business with telling me my pws were on the dark web. I checked the company's msg and the same was in there, I called them and it took an hour to get on the phone with their specialist who assured me the same.
I spent up to 18 hours/day the next three days changing my pws. After 1 1/2 days I backed up the info as I can no longer get into Chrome pws to see what they are (believe me I have tried to find out how to reset it to no avail and I have no clue what the pin is nor do I remember ever setting one)...when my backup went awry and all the pws I'd laboriously entered were now wiped out of my carefully tended pw protected spreadsheet.
I spent the next 1 1/2 days resetting them and recording them, this time it was harder as I had to use the forgotten pw option! Some of the companies wouldn't cooperate, but they didn't have financial info so that's okay. I did this on 200 passwords! I can tell you I am DONE and backed them up carefully...taking precautions. I attribute my former mishap to eye strain and lack of sleep.  I've only slept 3 1/2-4 1/2 hour sleep those three nights.
Last night a friend and I asked God for 9 1/2 hours sleep. I got it! I am amazed at a God who helped me through this most daunting of tasks and even gave me what I asked for!

What a mess for you to deal with, Kay! Glad it was caught though and you got it straightened out. I have few passwords. I write them in a small book.

Saw the dentist today about my dentures. First words he said were "Those are too big for your mouth. I'm going to make you a new one."  And that was that! More impressions taken and returning next week to try new one. Fingers crossed.....

There were 200 pws, have them weeded down but first had to change them as I don't want anyone getting my info potentially on the dark web.

I am so glad he's making you new dentures!  Peggy got new dentures but they didn't fit and she's an "Oh well..." person instead of saying something, so she ate w/o them.  I sure miss her.  I hope your new ones FIT this time!

I injured my foot yesterday, today it's way worse, I can't put weight on it, esp. in the kitchen on the marble floor.  NOT driving to urgent care out of town!  Feels like a pulled tendon, have a compression sock on it, elevating it.  May drive down to feed the horse her apple and also Iris' for Kodie's play date.
Cleaned out the wood stove and vacuumed, vacuuming wasn't too bad as it was kind of like a crutch.
Taking Iris dinner as she has the flu and everyone's allergies are real bad, worse that anywhere in the nation!  Pollen yesterday 800!  Nowhere is even near.

Kay, you are an accident going somewhere to happen!  lol  Of course, you lead a MUCH more active life than I do, so more chances to get hurt.

I have an appt. on Monday to get the new dentures.

So you'll be fitted and pick them up?

Part of it is the rough terrain.  No sidewalks.  I was going up an embankment in my yard and didn't go up my usual path, shouldn't have taken a shortcut.  Will have to remember that the next time I think I'm 20. :D

I fondly remember my 20's hiking in the wilderness, climbing cliffs, going into caves without proper gear, doing lots of crazy dangerous things. We were invincible. Not any more, for sure. Out of breath just walking from room to room now.  lol

Yes, picking up dentures Monday if they fit.

Still do not know where my grandson is.  Beautiful, sweet boy/man.  He knows to do something to go to jail for winter.  Obviously has street smarts (or dumbs).  In California.  Love the pup.  All we can do is worry.  Found out he has a son, teenager now.  The relatives who raised him do not want my son to meet him.  My son understands.  So many years we fought his own drug addiction.  Hep C treatments nearly killed him, but he respected Billy enough to let us help him get away from his drug sources and take him to the VA when his gallbladder had grown to his liver.  That was back when the treatments/chemo took 11 months.  Some days it just warmed my heart to hear him snoring.  I knew he was still alive.  But now his own son's life haunts him every day. There is a song that the late Joe Diffie sang that reminds me of these problems.  A stanza of it stands out:

"So here's to all the soldiers
Who have ever died in vain
The insane locked up in themselves
The homeless down on Main
To those who stand on empty shores
And spit against the wind
And those who wait forever
For ships that don't come in.

I think of my grandson when I hear it.

You saved a beautiful sweet pup's life!  I pray it is a blessing on you and your wife, I believe it will be.

It is my son's son.  We helped with his care until he was 5-6 and he lived with us when he was 16.  His dad lived with us too.  His first, and only year, at the small country school he won the art award.  He had promise as an artist, but I think the bipolar was handed down from my dad to my son, to my grandson.  He was drug seeking at that time too.  His dad took him to live with him, but my son was sober and his son was making it hard to stay sober, so he went back to where his mom had remarried and moved to California.  She called me once and asked me not to send cash gifts because he bought dope with it.  I understood.  He has lived many years in this existence and somehow stayed alive.  Out of one treatment center he told us he did not want to stay sober.  It was his choice.
