Looking For The Positives

Recommended Posts

Oh Carrie, your Estee Lauder story has me in stitches. I remember one time overhearing a lady about my age trying to recall the name of the mascara she wanted to buy, and the makeup girl said, in a most condescending tone, "You use it everyday, and you don't know the name of it?" After the lady left the counter, I explained to the girl that I knew why she didn't know the name. "It's because she cannot see it without her glasses on," I said, "and you usually don't wear your glasses while you're applying your mascara." Those makeup counter chickeepoos really get on my nerves (which is why now I get whatever cosmetics I use at Walgreen's). ;)

Dear Marty,

HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I don't know where to post this, so decided here because you are such a positive for all of us, and such a blessing to so many. God uses you in a powerful way through this caring forum. I thank you, and I thank God for you. I pray you have a special and wonderful day.

Hugs,

Carrie

Yes, Happy Birthday, dear Marty!!!

Carrie,

You're my kind of girl, Jones of NY AND Estee! I buy my makeup and creams on eBay...sometimes you can get great deals on the trial sizes they give away when you make a purchase. I compare prices and get some great deals. Besides, I hate to shop. Since I'm losing weight, I recently sold my Jones of NY tops, they went like hotcakes on eBay. I've never tried that before, usually giving all my clothes to St. Vinnie's, but it's helping me have $ to buy things I need in the sizes on the way down. :)

Oh, Anne, I want a piece of that cake also. Nothing better than chocolate. Going to have a piece of dark chocolate candy soon to perk up my spirits. Went to get report from my January colonoscopy at the doctor today. Of 11 polyps, only one was benign, the other 10 are called tubular adenoma, which does not mean they are cancerous, just that they could become cancerous if left alone. He told me the chances are 12 to 14%, not real high. He is a little concerned, however, that I had no polyps at my last colonoscopy, over 5 years ago, and 11 this time. He wants me to have another colonoscopy in 6 months to make sure he got them all, and also if I should have produced a bunch more, then he wants to send me to a genetic specialist to see if genetics plays a part. He said that is pretty unlikely, due to my age. Usually if genetics are involved, it is usually discovered by age 40 or so. So even if no polyps in 6 months, he said every 2 or 3 years from now on I will have to be checked....joy joy. Going to have a big piece of dark chocolate I think!

I was resting in bed. When my two amazing grandsons walked in to show me what they wrote on their iPad. In a drawing app. I read it and my heart melted completely. How could it not...

These boys... OUR boys are amazing. They were so HAPPY. I told them how much their Grammy loved and will always love them... Just from Heaven above. Noah did the writing and Caleb did the letters he could do best. And they both signed it themselves. So simple. So heart melting. THIS is what life is all about. ❤️

QMary,

I'm so sorry, we'll hope the next colonoscopy shows nothing more. Yes, have chocolate tonight! See if Anne saved you a piece too!

Butch,

That is so sweet! I look forward to having grandchildren...soon!

Butch,

I know that beautiful message just made your day. Yes, that is what life is all about, and I hope you felt a smile in your heart at the loving happiness of the boys. How wonderful to have them there! The very best medicine there is!

I am smiling. :)

O My Gosh. Two of my favorite foods. Anne, that is entirely mouth-watering! I'll help with the beaters, the bowl, anything. I made coconut meringues today, and had company for tea this afternoon, so we had nice little GF/DF almost-biscuits. Cookies. But your red wine chocolate cake batter would probably not make it to the oven if many of us were around there. Yum!

It has been a lovely day here, warm and sometimes sunny, with a light breeze. Deer and rabbits in the yard, and melting soil. I have covered over the tulips and some other bulbs that I could locate. We are supposed to be back to snow on Monday. But this has been a glorious few days of Spring.

And Anne? I hope you are having chocolate and red wine this evening. :) Enjoy!
